Although I have seen recent episodes of the TV show How I Met Your Mother, this weekend I started with the Pilot episode and tonight, finished Season 1. If you have not seen this show, I suggest you start watching it! Not only is it hilarious, but there actually are lessons that can be learned and taken away from each episode. My favorite part so far though was in the Pilot episode. Two of the characters who are engaged to each other, Lily and Marshall explain the success of their relationship. Hello {Olive Theory}! They say that the fact that Lily loves olives, and Marshall hates olives is the reason why they are so great together and why their relationship is so perfect...opposites attract.
While this is very romantic and a theory I would like to test personally, I do believe that it is still necessary to have some things in common in order to balance each other out. After asking around I have found many successful relationships that prove the {olive theory} to be true...many more than the opposite, either both or neither of the two liking olives!
I'll be sure to keep you posted on my personal {olive theory} testing :) How does this theory prove true or false in your own relationship?! I'd love to hear!
